THE AFRICA AGRICULTURE KNOWLEDGE BASE (AAKB) IS ESTABLISHED TO TRANSFORM AGRICULTURE INTO A VERITABLE TOOL FOR ADDRESSING THE NUMEROUS SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROBLEMS IN THE COUNTRY AND INDEED AFRICA. WHILE AGRO-INDUSTRIAL PARK (AIP) IS NOT NEW, EVEN IN NIGERIA/SA/ZAMBIA, WE ARE CERTAIN THAT THE BASIS/FEATURES UPON WHICH OUR INTERVENTION IS ANCHORED, AS EXPLAINED BELOW, ARE UNIQUE: AGRO-INDUSTRIAL BANK DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS IS A KNOWLEDGE BASE, MADE UP OF LARGELY ACADEMICS, SEEKING TO AVAIL THE RURAL COMMUNITIES OF FARMERS OF TOP-NOTCH AND BROAD-BASED KNOWLEDGE TO HELP EXPAND THE POTENTIAL OF AGRICULTURE TO TRANSFORM THE COUNTRY. WE HAVE PUT TOGETHER PEOPLE WITH VERY HIGH KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND EXPOSURE TO DRIVE THIS INITIATIVE. THEIR CURRENT CALLINGS AVAIL THE WINDOW OF PROVIDING THIS SERVICE IN THE SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY SERVICE, A REQUIREMENT FOR MOST SENIOR CIVIL SERVANTS, AS CONSULTANTS, TO PROVIDE THE KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED THEREBY ADVANCING THE SOCIETY. THE COMMON PEOPLE/FARMERS ARE BY THIS GESTURE PLACED AT THE CENTER OF THE BENEFICIATION BY MAKING THEM HOLD A 50% STAKE IN THE AIP WITHIN THEIR DOMAIN. THE SATELLITE FEEDER FARM SETTLEMENTS WITHIN A 30 KM RADIUS OF ONE AIP, WHICH GETS SUPPORTS FROM THE AIP, HELP TO EXPAND THE REACH., BY BEING SERVICED WITH EQUIPMENT & EXTENSION KNOWLEDGE. THE MULTIPLICATION OF THE AIP TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS LEADS TO THE SPREAD OF DEVELOPMENT ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE SOCIAL ENGINEERING COMPONENT OF THE AIP ALSO HELPS TO CHANGE MINDSET THROUGH RE-ORIENTATION THUS ENSURING THE DEFEAT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL POVERTY.

Making the people the centrepiece of the initiative is our strength. In the spirit of UBUNTU, as Africans our oneness is our strength.
Our seeming weakness is the newness of the vehicle - the company AAKB, but for us the vastness and length of years of experiences make our group an old wine in a new bottle. We are of the view that this weakness can be turned into strength by focusing on the track records of our human resources - from largely octagenerian advisors to young management and operation teams.
The reach and general exposure of the brains behind this initiative is the anchor holding this initiative. The deep conviction of achieving the near impossible ideas of mega agriculture projects derive from this.
Yields and food quality make the differences, our research reveal the wide gaps in yields of certain crops in the different regions of the continent, hence our access to the different zones of the continent offer us the unique opportunity of siting the production of certain crops in the places with optimal and comparatively best yields.
The identified problems that bedevel African farmers are mitigated by our initiative. We align with them to be on the same side of the table in negotiating best bargains for all, in the agriculture enterprise. We brigde, if not eliminate the gulf obliterating the benefits accruable to the lay farmers and other ancillary agriculture activities participants.
The ensuing consequences of the everyone-involved-agriculture initiative is peace, harmony, and security for all. Both food, social, psychological, and physical securities are thus minimized thereby paving the way for real growth. We are certain that the guarantees of economic survival for all reduces tention, animosity, division and civil strifes. The challenges posed to growth in African are thus removed.
For too long, Africa has remained at the bottom of the global food chain. Changing that do come from economics. Until you remove the poverty optics, which is bouyed on by the conflicting and non-uniting belief system, we cannot be a proud set of people that can lay our hands on what the global economic system has to offer. We at AAKB are confident that with the resources at our the disposal of the continent and the exposures of all participants we shall change the QoL of the people for the better.
The desire for simultaneous growth made us to adopt cell unit format in our development of AIPs. Each location of the AIP is treated as a standalone sub-unit of the overall body. The unit, like the cell, has a life of its own, the people indigneous to the location principally drive the initiative in a manner that is symbiotically growing the entire system. The latitude to bring in the uniqueness of the locations help to enjoy the diversities inherent in locations, people, culture, and general idiosyncracies.
We are enamoured by the conviction that with the right setting our people has the will and character to drive changes that emphasizes our oneness rather than our differences.
